Aleppo at a Turning Point: ISIS Slowly Being Pushed Out


ISIS is on its back foot in Aleppo as well as in Iraq. Aleppo has been the birth place of some of the most gruesome violence of the whole conflict and both sides are to blame. They have used siege tactics as well as indiscriminate bombardments. Some of these bombardments even targeted civilians. Both sides have shown little regard for innocent life during this conflict. However, since November, a large amount of rebel forces have been pushed from the city by a government offensive.

“Syria’s five-year-old war is reaching a turning point. In the north and west, ISIS is on the back foot. Its territory is declining, as it is in Iraq.”
